Demeter Christmas Tree Fragrance

Demeter Christmas Tree

If you don’t know Demeter, the brand had its UK moment a few years ago and since then hasn’t made much of an appearance. However, you can still get hold of it if you know where to look. Demeter makes scents that smell exactly like the name on the label where possible (even they admit they don’t know what Pixie Dust smells like but they say they know what it should smell like – fruity, sugary and light as air.. quite right!) and have a gorgeous bath and body range in the US, making a Gin & Tonic shower gel totally possible. Yes, please! I have no clue why it’s in such short supply in the UK and it definitely needs more stockists because it’s so quirky and exciting – gimmicky, yes – but all the fragrances really are surprising and fun. Although they are often ‘literal’ scents, they are quite complex in construction.

Christmas Tree is as you’d expect, exactly the smell of a freshly bought fir tree and while personally, it’s not something that I would want to smell of, it’s perfectly usable as a room spray and to spritz your actual tree when the natural scent starts to fade. It’s £25 HERE.

Other Demeter fragrances include Bubblegum, Apple Blossom, Cinnamon Bun, Paperback (smells of new books), Thunderstorm and Pizza (yes, really) but those are mostly US only. UK options include Christmas In New York, Russian Leather, Snow, Gin & Tonic, Earl Grey Tea and Cucumber.

  1. Would try that!

  2. The America-only options sound divine and the British ones sound a bit dull in comparison! I’ve heard about the brand before but never seen them in person to try them out.

I remember when the Demeter fragrances were available in this country. If anyone is interested in these scents, but doesn’t want to order a £25 scent (unsmelled!), they may be interested in Demeter’s founder, Christopher Brosius’s current brand CB I Hate Perfume. It’s far more expensive, but Cult Beauty sell a range of 2 ml samples for £3. It’s worth a try if you are ordering anyway or there’s a free delivery offer. http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/fragrance/try-me-testers.html

I’ve got the playdoh one and the baby powder one. Really like them but like you say tricky to find…

I was going to order some samples from Demeter, but the shipping turned out to be 25 pounds, even if I just bought one tiny sample vial! This post made me so happy, until I looked and saw that this site chargers 45 pounds to ship to where I am. I know shipping can be expensive but I have received packages around the 2kg mark from the UK, and they cost 30ish pounds to send. Some companies just want to rip you off it feels like!
