Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF30 Colour Corrector

Now I’ve had a chance to actually use this CC Cream from Clinique, I’ve got to say I’m very impressed indeed. I’d go as far as to say it’s got the best tone correcting properties of any CC or BB I’ve used so far. Given that the actual cream is pretty lightweight, it does quite a spectacular job of giving the complexion uniformity.

Unless you have very oily skin, you will need to use plenty of moisturiser underneath; the consistency doesn’t glide over the skin particularly without a little underneath help. It doesn’t give ‘glow’ as such, more a matte regularity, but cleverly does it without deadening the skin.

With the SPF30, it’s this summer’s must have base.

  1. Do you think dry skins can still get away with wearing it?

The BB does not convince me they finished, I prefer an extra hydration and then color, although they are really comfortable. CC really think that will be the object of desire in 2013?

I’m confused. I was colour matched to this in John Lewis last week, and the shade was Fresh Peach. I checked later because I hadn’t remembered reading about that shade – and right enough, it’s not listed although I’ve found a reference to it being available for the Asian market. I like the CC cream but it doesn’t really match what I am reading about it – thinner, glidier, not matte at all – so I wonder what’s going on?

I’ve been using a sample for the past week and my dry skin likes it, my skin feels ok at the end of the day and I don’t end up with any dry patches as I do with a lot of regular foundations. I wear a little moisturiser underneath, made the mistake of putting my usual amount on initially and the CC cream didn’t sit well on it, but on the other hand the CC cream alone isn’t hydrating enough for me. I find a thin layer of moisturiser given plenty of time to soak in before CC application works well, the CC cream definitely delivers some hydration.
