Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfecting Base

Yes. Just yes! Although top line on this product is that it helps lipstick last longer, I can’t say I find this the case. BUT, what it does do is give lips a very smooth base over which to put the said lipstick. I have very creased lips and always have had so while I haven’t turned into Kim K over night, it’s certainly made them look much smoother.

When you apply Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfecting Base, it gives a matte finish – give it a minute or two before applying lipstick and you will see that it just looks better. The effect doesn’t last forever, so it’s a handbag job, but it’s also rather addictive, so you’re warned! It’s not exclusively compatible with Clarins either because I used it under Clinique.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfecting Base is a gem of a product and I love it. It’s £18 launching this month (will flag it up as soon as I spot it).

  1. Ooh, this send like a pretty awesome addition to my makeup collection. I have quite a creased bottom lip so it’d be perfect! Thanks for sharing x

Sounds perfect. Just what I needed. But it is moisturising too? I have terribly dry lips, which becomes worse during winter.

    1. Jane

Not especially – it feels more like a barrier cream than a moisturiser

Sounds very like mac prep and prime lip, have you ever used that one? I already have it so wondering if this is better it sounds lovely! X

    1. Jane

      No I haven’t … will take a look x

Sounds quite similar to Guerlain’s KissKiss LipLift, but less spendy. Have you tried the Guerlain, Jane?

    1. Jane

yes and I like it – it’s very similar.. but I found Guerlain, after continued use, a bit drying x

The MAC lip primer is really good. I don’t think it makes lipstick last any longer but it does ensure a gliding application and infinately better, more comfortable and fuss free with mattes.

This makes me think of MAC Prep and Prime lip base(which is always sold out), the Guerlain has a nude colour which MAC does not.
