Chanel Summer Beauty 2014

I’ve got a few samples trickling through for Chanel Summer Beauty 2014 – I went to a presentation by Lisa Eldridge a few weeks ago where the looks were demonstrated (HERE) but I don’t remember seeing the lovely Glossamers in Happy and Hello. Don’t let the bright shades deceive you – these are the sheerest possible washes of colour on the lip.

In fact, I would say that Hello is completely clear. It’s a long time since I’ve used a clear gloss but they used to be everywhere. I remember I had a roller-ball one years ago and it was sooooo gloopy it practically dripped off my lips but could I stop wearing it? No.

This is a swatch of Happy… it’s very, very light but also very pretty – there’s nothing I want more for my beach bag.

And as you can see, it’s Hello, saying a very quiet hello!

When I last posted about the pure white colour, Eastern Light, I got various reactions ranging from how horrible white polish is to there is NO other white polish like Eastern Light (it’s a re-issue). Certainly, if you have the skills to paint your nails a la the promo shot, then it’s a stunning look, but I’ve never successfully done a pure white mani, that I can remember.

One of the other shades of nail polish coming is Tutti Frutti – a pink-orange that’s all kinds of pretty for summer nails, although I have seen a lot of this colour from other brands as well. Still no news on launch date (May probably) or prices, but I’ll post again nearer the time. I just wanted to show a few pieces from the range for now.

I knew it’d be may!! I can’t wait! Especially for the lilac nail polish. They all seem promising this time around, I’m gonna have to snatch them all up considering I think all but one are LE!

Mirabella looks beautiful in the bottle, but hideous on, it’s positively neon! I gave mine away (as did my friend) – first time I’ve ever not liked a Chanel polish (not quite true, Mimosa made me a bit nauseous)!
