Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner Rose Platine

I’m so glad I tried this little beauty which initially looked pretty blah to me. Rose Platine is the kind of shade that is so understated in amongst all the wow colours right now that it would have been very easy to overlook it. But, it really has a special something. The shade is quite hard to describe – it’s like an old, antiqued gold fused with platinum and very discrete burnished pink – it almost looks greyish in the pencil. But, when you pop it on your eyes, they instantly come alive. I haven’t been wearing a lot of eye make up – I’ve become a little bit over-sensitive to Botox so when I had my last lot, instead of giving my eyes a little lift, it sent my brows down, so my eyes are looking very heavy and it is a little bit pointless weighing them down with my favourite dark greys and greens as it only makes things worse. I might point out about this downturn that it sometimes does happen – it is a known undesirable side effect and all I can do is wait it out.

Back to Rose Platine. I’ve been wearing it as a simple liner with no other eye make up at all other than a little bit of black kohl on my inner rims. It gives a light shimmer but it is well pigmented so even though it is a light shade, it’s quite radiant. I’d definitely recommend this as an every-day liner for when you can’t be bothered with the whole make up thing. It just adds something.

It’s got a retractable tip and integral sharpener and costs £17.50.

    I really really want this!

Oh no! Something else from the Chanel Summer Collection I regret not picking up!

  3. At last I see a good review for this lovely product that has become a staple for me.
I’d also add that it is truly budge-proof and can balance beautifully a heavier top lid look if one doesn’t want to use a dark colour (which, as you rightly point out can drag down tired or hooded eyes).

  4. do you think this would work on someone who’s quite pink round the eyes to start with? It looks so pretty but I’m worried about exacerbating the problem.

  5. Hi Great She: okay, I think it would be absolutely fine.. the pink in it is minimal.. a barely there hue. The colour is dense enough that it would actually cover natural pink so you would probably obliterate your pinkness. That said, I do think it needs very black mascara to compliment it (I have lash extensions which are very very black), and wear the colour as literally a simple line above the top lashes. If you are pink all over your lids, I would probably wear it with a neutralising shade though.

The shade looks perfect! Since I dyed my hair darker Its harder to wear eyeliner, this looks like a nice alternative x

This looks beautiful! Have you tried MAC’s Powersurge khol? As it looks like the colour is quite similar which I love, but the MAC lasts all of 1 hour on my watery eyes.. this could be a good waterproof alternative? x

  8. At first I didn’t really think I cared for my Rose Platine but now I think it’s growing on me 😉

  9. Ali – I noticed when I was wearing it yesterday that it didn’t quite make it to 7pm (from a 9am start) and I had to touch up to go out. But, still…not bad! x

  10. Really love this shade, although I have been wearing it mostly on the lower lashline. Nice to see it getting the attention it deserves x

It’s such an awesome liner! I just bought it and I love it. I don’t wear black on my waterline, but this shade is excellent! It compliments my eyes, even when they are a little red from being tired. It’s a very long-wearing one too, I have it in black and marine. Love.

Thank you so much BBB!I’m going to have to try it x

  13. Oh this looks like my dream colour. Have previously used the marine and love the liner itself. Blooming pricey but I’d rather have one I love than several which are just ‘ok’.
