CHANEL Spring Summer 2025 Mix Match

[unpaid/sample] There is much prettiness ahead for spring and summer at CHANEL counters – those completely unwearable pastel shades have been given a new twist by Makeup Creation Studio and Cometes Collective member, Ammy Drammeh. A little bit on the Collective because it’s a long title that doesn’t mean anything unless you know that it’s a group of emerging makeup artists chosen to work together to create makeup for CHANEL. The Cometes Collective makeup artists create their own seasonal collections but they also work together on other pieces. It’s how CHANEL shade expansions come to fruition and there’s no better example than the Mix Match spring/summer collection.

There are four suggested Twin Sets – Latte Frappe Eye Shadow with Brun Pourpre Liner, Mauve Sucre with Mauve Intense, Peche Glace with Rouge Fauve and Menthe A L’Eau with Vert Lagon – they’re all limited editions. I’ve tried both the Latte Frappe with Brun Pourpre (coming up!) and Mauve Sucre with Mauve Intense. Starting with Mauve Sucre:

I try to take photos of the products when they’re pristine and straight out of the packaging but in this instance, I could not wait to get these products on my face!

Frosty Mauve Sucre went straight onto my lids seamlessly (it’s a little bit droppy so you might want to apply this shadow before you apply any other make up so you can clean up) and with the softest glide. I don’t care what anyone says about CHANEL but it is the best at luxury make up. Mauve Sucre is a very spring like shade – it’s brightening and wakes up your face although I feel that less is more. I then lined my lids both above and below and on the inner rim before applying a black mascara, although if I’d had a plum mascara to hand, I would have used that.

I love that liner – it’s gone into my favourites bag so you’ll be seeing it again. The Rouge Coco Baume in Charming Lilac, £37 HERE is the biggest surprise though – it’s just got a drift of ashy lavender to it that’s lifted by a joyful pink. These are slightly counterintuitive colours for me but you can judge for yourselves whether it’s working or not. There are six shades of Rouge Coco Baume for SS25 – my absolute favourite is coming up in the next post.

Honestly, I love this look – I’ll wear it time and again especially when the signs of spring really kick in. I’m the first to say that matching your make up to the season is a marketing fantasy but in this case, I just need to see a couple of tulips to truly feel it. The liner is £28 and the shadow is £36 HERE.

Oh that look is just so pretty on you Jane!

I love that lipstick – it reminds me of a MAC Slimshine I bought multiples of called Pleasing- really pretty and enlivening for all complexions. (Slimshines were the ultimate buttery lip gloss in their day, I think you would have loved them, if you didn’t already know about them!)

Ohh, I don’t remember Slimshines but I want them immediately!

I am so glad you tried the new Chanel spring makeup. I watched a YouTube video review and loved the new colors but I trust your reviews above anyone else’s. So when I arrived in Venice this afternoon, I went to the Chanel Beaute store and bought 2 eyeshadows (Frosty Mauve Sucre and Menthe de l’ Eau, which is the green shade). I also bought the same Rouge Coco Baume in Charming Lilac. It looks scary in the tube but on my lips, it looks beautiful. You’re right – the colors do give my face a lovely spring radiance. I don’t know how to describe it. I also bought the Mauve eyeliner. It’s a pretty color and glides easily on the eyelids. The green mint eyeshadow is really gorgeous! Will you buy it?

Gosh, Jane, thank you so much for these reviews!

Now a question: do you like the Chanel foundations? Which one?

    1. Jane Cunningham

Oh I’m so pleased – I think they’re great colours and very different from what I’d normally wear. Yes I do like Chanel foundations – in particular Sublimage (so expensive but it’s beautiful) and Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint which is my summer staple. I’m not all that keen on the No.1 versions.

That’s such a gorgeous spring summer look that it has inspired me to buy the lilac and raspberry balm, but I could do with finding matching lipliners, can’t find a lilac one for love nor money though???

NARS has one – whether it’s right for you is another matter – it’s called Le Lavandou 🙂
