If you love a velvet finish foundation, then I’m pretty sure that Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet is going to be right up your street. The consistency is very glossy and fluid (but not runny) allowing for easy blending but goes onto the skin as a matte finish. It’s genuinely light-feeling on the skin and it’s indicated for oily and combination skin.
The oily and combination rings true – when I tested it I felt it was a little dry on my (non-oily) skin and I can tell it has a high proportion of powders to mattify. What’s also interesting about Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet is that it claims a blur effect and again this does ring true as my skin looked surprisingly smooth! I also noticed that coverage is good in that it does even out the tone very well.
As a luxury foundation for the combination/oily skin market, this is a proper treat – beautiful consistency and finish. While I can’t test for the long-last mattifying effect, I think this skin area is under-served and Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet is a great addition, only let down by a rather small choice of colours (6). It launches on the 11th April for £33. There are some great swatches HERE although bear in mind different countries have different colour options.

Looks so nice, but not for my dry skin. I do really want to try a base from Chanel though, one day I’ll probably get my hands on the aqua one!

This sounds so good, I hope we have B70 here in the UK as it looks like it would be my perfect shade! Love the look of this, it’s nice to see them releasing something aimed at oily/combo skin as the Chanel foundation line up could do with one 😀 x

This would be great for my combination skin in the hot, humid summers. Hope Chanel launches these in India soon.
