CHANEL Duo Lumiere Limited Edition 2023

[unpaid/sample] You can imagine how delighted I was to see sequin details making a come back – the original Chanel Lumiere D’Artifice Palette from 2007 is one of my post precious in my collection of older beauty items. The new version, Duo Lumiere Limited Edition, brings back the sequin detail that’s run through CHANEL fashion for many years –  I always say that nobody references heritage in the way that CHANEL does and that’s proved by my recent visit to the CHANEL exhibition at the V&A Museum. I’m interspersing a few pictures of dresses through the decades that honour the sequin and metallics.

The palette is two tone and divides a champagne shade and a light golden colour. What’s different about this sequin detail is the CHANEL emblem makes an appearance just as delicately as the individual sequins.

I’m kicking myself for not taking snaps of the accompanying details so I can’t date this but what I will say is that almost without exception, every piece of clothing (there are hundreds) could as easily be worn today as in the decade it was created. Quite remarkable.

As you can see, there’s an accompanying brush and one that you can actually use to apply the Duo Lumiere Limited Edition – it’s multi purpose really: you can add twinkles to cheeks, decolette, eyelids or brows even (by passing a brush over the palette very lightly and then taking it across your brow) if you can bring yourself to use it at all. To be honest I am still at the gazing stage.

These dresses are from the 1930’s.

It’s £54 HERE if you’re ready to get your sparkle on! I’ve got some pictures of the beauty pieces from the exhibition so I will show those in a separate post.

Isn’t it beautiful Jane! The brush too. I like the oversize highlighters, I am trying to justify buying one (lion or comet or..,). The exhibition was amazing wasn’t it. Plus the evolution of No 5 and the beauty range. I only wish they could’ve done a beauty or scent item to tie in with the exhibition to take home.
Hope all is well with you and adorable Dora xxx

The gift shop options were terrible! Where was the limited edition lipstick??

Oh yes! Something portable and covetable… They were underwhelming (whispers the word dull) and just a tad pricey!
