I can honestly say I didn’t expect to like the By Terry Sun Designer Palettes as much as I do. I’m a bit hit and miss with By Terry – some products have me at hello and then others seem to fall a little flat. Both of the palettes are absolutely gorgeous and the product quality is beautiful.

First up is the Tan & Flash Cruise palette with three bright blush shades, two bronze shades and an illuminator. Don’t be put off by the brightness of the blush – I’ve swatched them at intensity so you can see the colours properly but you can use the lightest sweep or go a bit higher if you want to. I love all three colours with summer skin although I think if you are very pale, you’d struggle to keep these light enough because they are highly pigmented. The central orange shade has a little more shimmer than the other two, and with the exception of the palest colour in the bronzer section, it’s also shimmer shot.

In practical terms, it’s going to greatly help if you have a brush that fits – a Kabuki doesn’t do it in this instance because of the shapes. I’ve used my Wayne Goss blush brush (02) that’s unfortunately constantly out of stock and seems to be impossible to get hold of in the UK anyway, but it’s a small headed blush brush that does the job. I’ve done a quick search around and think that Crownbrush BK4 Angle Blush would be as good and it’s a reasonable £6.99 HERE.

I’ve taken pictures in the sun as that’s how the colours are designed to be worn and you can see that there is a golden sheen running through the blush that really does bring light to the cheeks.

The second By Terry Sun Designer Palettes is more gentle, colour wise, and is called Light & Tan Vibes. Same arrangement, different shades.

The bronze tones seem to be exactly the same.

Again, the blush section has that gold thing going on that really does uplight cheeks.

Despite the £64 price tag (although SpaceNK has a £15 off over £60 spend HERE) this does feel like something very special indeed and while I’m very much a cream blush fan, I’m wearing (and loving) the coral blush shade right now. I would definitely multi-task this palette even further with a wash of the lighter blush shades on my lids.

Honestly, just for bronzing and blush I think.. I particularly like the blush shades – I haven’t tried swirling them together but I guess you could. I’d use the less sparkly bronze colour literally as an all over wash of bronze or as a blush on a sunny day. Basically, I’m personally treating it more for cheeks than anything.. you won’t catch me contouring!
