Thalgo Bronzing Activator and Guerlain Terracotta Serum
Thalgo Bronzing Activator and Guerlain Terracotta Serum

While it’s a bit of a last minute decision to throw my hands in the air at the British weather and head off for four days of warmth, I hope I’ve left enough time for these fabulous pre-sun products to work. They both stimulate melanin – encouraging it to come to the surface of the skin so when the sun does hit the skin, the melanin is there ready and waiting.

I like to sun bathe but I’m not like a lizard on a rock.. over-doing the sun is a complete no-no in my book, but I am hoping for a light tan. I’ve used Thalgo Bronzing Activator before and it really does absolutely do what it says it will and lets your skin tan as soon as you get in the sun. Ideally you need to use it for a couple of weeks before you go, but I use it during and after as well. I haven’t used Guerlain Terracotta Serum before, so fingers crossed that it does the job. It comes in a serum formula and you can add it to your body cream if you want to or directly to the skin – I’m using it on my face. It isn’t a conventional serum – it’s rather thick so the droplet dispenser really is a bit pointless as you end up having to smear it on your palms anyway. It’s not drying as such, but certainly you don’t get any hydration from it. It hasn’t launched in the UK yet, so I’ll do a review afterwards so that you can figure out if it’s worth getting for the summer ahead.
