Love these beautiful limited edition Paris pots from Bourjois for their spring look. They’re currently on ASOS but will launch into Boots in March. Designed by young Parisian artist, Juliette Bure, the six blushers are priced at £7.49 each.
Bourjois included in their press material a recipe for making 15 Pink Cakes of blush – I haven’t tried them so it’s at your own peril!!
Ingredients:
5 Tablespoons of Talc
1 Tablespoon of Purple Pigment
1 Tablespoon of Mother of Pearl
1 Pinch of Pink Pigment
250ml Water
1 Drop of Rose fragrance
In a mixing bowl, mix talc, mother of pearl and pigments until you obtain an even coloured powder, add water gradually, whisking to make a smooth lump free mixture. Line the mould with a square of damp muslin, and put a teaspoon of mixture in the mould and pack down hard. Put the cakes in the oven at 140C and bake for 50 minutes.
I’m guessing you could use those silicon fairy cake moulds but you have to pack the mix right down to get a smooth top. After they’ve cooled, you can get blushing!
PS: If you’re wondering where to get hold of pigment, you could try www.aromantic.com.

I love the idea of making my own make up but where on earth does one get mother of pearl from?!
Mother of Pearl is white Mica, you can get that at aromantics in the UK or at TKB Trading in the US.
Wow, I didn’t know that you have to cook a make up 😛 Hmmm.. I’m thinking of trying this out
I love these, but tried them all and none of them showed up on my skin, they’re all lighter shades 🙁

Cannot find purple or pink pigment anywhere?
Do you have to mix them? I am a complete novice to this concept but would LOVE to try making my own blush!
Any help would be most appreciated (:
