Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Smoothing Serum Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Bobbi Brown’s new member of the Vitamin Enriched team. It’s a milky serum with smoothing and glow enhancing elements and is designed to be used under Vitamin Enriched Face Base (although, of course you can use it under whatever moisturiser you already have.

I can only give a very top line review because much of the claims on this new product rely on longer term use but I can at least talk you through the ingredients and benefits. My first big question for this serum is where the ‘smoothing’ comes from because to me, smoothing means some level of exfoliation. I was expecting to find some fruit acids, which indeed there are in the form of the HydroGlow Fruit Complex containing watermelon, apple and cactus flower, but only apple (which contains malic acid) could be considered exfoliating. The serum does contain the signature grapefruit and geranium oils – grapefruit will work like a very mild acid. The others are loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. Acetyl Glucosamine (a sugar) is also listed and that is a very gentle exfoliator that would only work over time.

I think what it’s going to add primarily is an extra level of long term hydration using niacinamide, vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, shea butter and passion fruit oil that over a period of time (at least a couple of months, I’d say) could well bring some visible results to your complexion. It’s certainly very pleasant of to use with a burst of citrussy grapefuit and sits like a fine vein on the skin. It’s really up to you to decide if you need an extra level of skin care – if you absolutely love your complexion routines and are prepared to be patient, it’s a winner, but if you’re more of an instant gratification person, it’s last in the race :-). It’s £63 HERE although cheaper at Boots – but you are eligible for a full size free gift (not sure what – there is apparently a list of products you can choose from) because you are spending over £55 and that makes Bobbi Brown the more cost effective site to buy from.
