This Birch & Brook Secret Garden candle is an absolute joy! It’s absolutely bursting with floral notes – as soon as I opened the box it arrived in, they all came zooming out; it was like being handed the perfect summer bouquet of flowers. Note wise, there is plenty of hyacinth and lily of the valley – they seem to be the predominant notes, but further along, there’s mandarin flower, peony, musk, vetiver and heliotrope (not that I could pick heliotrope out of a police line-up).
Birch & Brook is a Brit brand that uses natural, organic wax (GM free) with all ingredients free from chemicals, palm, paraffin and petroleum with a burn time of 40 hours. If you want to blossom up the forthcoming grotty weather, it’s the very thing. There are, so far, only three candles in the line-up; Secret Garden, Library and Fireside and the philosophy of the range focusses on simple pleasures. I’m all for those.
