Following the success of the Estee Lauder Little Black Lash Primer, Benefit are throwing their hat into the ring with Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer. I have barely got my head around a facial primer, so now lashes? I’ve had this product for several days now and while I don’t think everyone will get the point (it’s hardly an essential – more of an optional extra) it’s been working well for me.
The primer itself is a dark brown – enough consistency to give lashes a good coating. But the main element here is that the coating stays soft, so if you need low key make up to start with and then a rev up later, you can coat over it without making your lashes look brittle or clumpy. Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer will bulk up your mascara if you’re using to voom up the thickness and length of your lashes, and the brush does a great job of defining. I guess its natural partner will be They’re Real Mascara. Because I wanted to see if it works well with any mascara I haven’t tried it with They’re Real yet – only with Clinique, Lancome and Chanel so far.
If you have naturally long and thick lashes, you really won’t need this as a booster but more a low key look for the gym (it’s waterproof) or no make up days. In any case, you have plenty of time to decide because Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer doesn’t launch til 2016!
