Banana Republic Leather Skinnies
Banana Republic Leather Skinnies

No, it’s not Accessory Wednesday, but I bought a pair of these on Friday and I’m obsessed with them! Sometimes you can get to an age where you feel a bit directionless as far as fashion goes – I tend to stick to a very neutral, monochrome palette which I like to think of as stylish but in reality, it’s probably a bit boring!

So, leather skinnies. The Banana Republic Leather Skinnies are just the right cut – not too low on the waist, made of a stretch fabric (it’s faux leather obviously) that moulds nicely to your contours in a skinny jean style. So far, they haven’t shown any signs of going baggy on the knee either. The thing about these is that the leather panel is only down the front – I don’t think I can do the full on leather thing without feeling over the top, but a panel is different. It’s not so… Suzi Quatro! I’ve been wearing them with white shirts so far, but it’s only a matter of days if the weather reports are to be believed that I’ll be wearing them with chunky knits – I really think they fall into the ageless style thing that I’m *trying* to do!

One thing to note if you’re thinking of taking the plunge – I bought UK size 12 Petite, which translates to about a size 11. I tried the regular size 12 and it was too big, while the 10 was a pinch too small. I’m just over 5ft 3 and there is a little length left at the bottom so if you’re an inch or so taller, you could still opt for Petite. So far, the Banana Republic Leather Skinnies are my best autumn buy. You can find them HERE for £69.99.
