I’m totally back in my comfort zone after all those brights with these bareMinerals Lasting Liners that will hit stores in March. Each one is muted and wearable and made to a long-last formula. Some are matte and others have a metallic element to them and they’re a soft, creamy formula. However, this style of liner isn’t my favourite – it’s very hard to stop the ends breaking off and although you can rotate the barrel to get more stick, you don’t get a sharp line and it’s common for the ends to break. I’ve also found this to be the case with Clinique Quickliners.
The bareMinerals Lasting Liners are intended to smudge, however, and come with smudgers at the opposite end of the pencil. Colour-wise, I’m obsessed with grey liner and wine-shades so there are two in here that will instantly go in the ‘keep’ drawer, Always Charcoal and Endless Orchid.
From left to right: Intense Sage, Nonstop Navy, Lasting Brown, Absolute Black, Always Charcoal, Forever Brandy, Endless Orchid and Eternal Bronze. I haven’t put them to the long-last test yet, but if they’re not doing it, I’ll report back.
I don’t have a price for these yet but I’ll update this post once I do. NB: Thanks to a reader comment, I discover that the smudger pulls away to reveal a sharpener. Clever – but actually I thought I had been heavy handed and broken it! So, you will be able to sharpen this cream formula but I’d say if you’re planning to sharpen keep them in the fridge overnight to harden them up – once soft, they’ll be difficult to sharpen.
