bareMinerals Lasting Liners

I’m totally back in my comfort zone after all those brights with these bareMinerals Lasting Liners that will hit stores in March. Each one is muted and wearable and made to a long-last formula. Some are matte and others have a metallic element to them and they’re a soft, creamy formula. However, this style of liner isn’t my favourite – it’s very hard to stop the ends breaking off and although you can rotate the barrel to get more stick, you don’t get a sharp line and it’s common for the ends to break. I’ve also found this to be the case with Clinique Quickliners.

The bareMinerals Lasting Liners are intended to smudge, however, and come with smudgers at the opposite end of the pencil. Colour-wise, I’m obsessed with grey liner and wine-shades so there are two in here that will instantly go in the ‘keep’ drawer, Always Charcoal and Endless Orchid.

From left to right: Intense Sage, Nonstop Navy, Lasting Brown, Absolute Black, Always Charcoal, Forever Brandy, Endless Orchid and Eternal Bronze. I haven’t put them to the long-last test yet, but if they’re not doing it, I’ll report back.

I don’t have a price for these yet but I’ll update this post once I do. NB: Thanks to a reader comment, I discover that the smudger pulls away to reveal a sharpener. Clever – but actually I thought I had been heavy handed and broken it!  So, you will be able to sharpen this cream formula but I’d say if you’re planning to sharpen keep them in the fridge overnight to harden them up – once soft, they’ll be difficult to sharpen.

My idea of being brave with colour is wearing an eye liner with a very muted hint of colour I tend to go for green or purple tones to complement my green eyes. Saying that the one that stands out to me here is the charcoal coloured one. I actually prefer these style of liners because I can never find a sharpener when I need one! x

I got one of these as with the True Romantic collection, the charcoal, and its beautiful. You didn’t mention it in your post, so I’m not sure if you’s spotted it but the smudger pulls out of the casing and has a sharpener on the other end. Nifty, but I wasn’t expecting it and thought I’d broken it!

Thank you SO much for pointing that out.. I had thought I had broken it! Will amend the post. x

I think bare minerals need to think about their eyeliner. I have a promblem with the waterproof ones. They’re to creamy to apply but if you do manage then it stays on ALL day. So frustrating! 😉

  5. I’m more of an eyeliner person than an eyeshadow one and the colours in this collection are totally my kind. Waiting for your detailed review on their lasting powers 🙂

They definitely last.. wore the grey one last night again and it stayed put all evening. I’ve worn the black liner today – all day – and it’s still there.
