Earlier today I was lucky enough to meet the wonderful Romano Ricci, greatgrandson of fragrance doyenne Nina Ricci.
Romano was in London to introduce Anyway, the new fragrance from his line Juliette has a Gun.
Housed in a soft touch ‘feel me’ bottle, white on white, Anyway is quite simply, a simple fragrance.
Romano explained that this new scent is the antithesis of the fragrances we see so much of. It is a smart formula of only 15 ingredients, the most notable being:
Neroli and Green Lime (light, fresh)
Blackcurrant Leaf (think green, not fruity)
Hedione and Amboxan – these are essential synthetic elements, which he says give a new dimension to the scent.
I loved the way he supported the need for using synthetics, and explained how they give so much more to a fragrance.
In a world where we are surrounded by challenges, Anyway has been developed as an ironic take on fragrance. We are surrounded by so many messages from brands and the complexities in their formulas. With Anyway, it’s all about not taking itself or beauty, too seriously – it’s something unique, and a rare find in fragrance.
Anyway launches later this Autumn at Selfridges and will be £65 / 50ml.
