Accessory Wednesday: Winter Coats

M&S Coat

Retailers are wringing their hands at the moment because we’re not buying coats and jumpers. To be honest, if you live down south then there hasn’t really been any need yet because we have unusually warm weather. BUT, at some point winter will really kick in and there are some gorgeous coats around. All my picks are from M&S because I think they’re extremely reasonably priced. I keep passing the very huggy Boucle Cocoon Coat above in store and nearly buying. I’m going on a quick holiday to NYC soon where it will be very cold, so I think I’m going to take the plunge! It’s £85 HERE. Oh, and there’s currently an offer at M&S for free delivery over £50.

M&S Leather Trim Coat

I honestly can’t resist a little leather trim – it just shifts an ordinary black coat into something much more special. This one is £150 and I don’t think in a million years you’d mark this out as M&S – Marc Jacobs more like! It’s HERE.

M&S Green Coat

Whenever I’ve ventured away from black for coats, I’ve always ended up wishing that I’d got it in black. I have a trusty black cashmere Joseph coat that goes with everything (I did have a lovely black Jigsaw coat too until I lent it to someone and they LOST it!) but if you click through and have a look at the model shot for this one, it looks beautiful and vibrant. Better yet, it’s reduced (why?) from £79 to £47 HERE. That’s kind of unbelievable! I’ve paid more for a jumper.

  1. I never think to look in M&S for coats, not sure why, but I’ll definitely be checking it out after reading this – that leather trim is absolutely gorgeous!

Drat, I wish I’d seen this sooner. I just got a new coat. That turquoise one is glorious.
