So, as I was cruising around the internet for spring coats, I actually ended up buying a beach top (I’ll add it in at the end of the post so you can see). I’m not massively a fan of the trench coat, but I’ve spotted one that I think I would be really happy greeting spring and early summer in, above. It’s the Autograph Belted Trench (with Buttonsafe, but I’m not sure what that is!) and the reason I like it is because a) it’s a completely impractical colour and b) it comes in petite so will sit just under the bum even if you’re short.
This coat is off-white – it’s not so sparkling white that you’ll be mistaken for an on-duty doctor (oh god, imagine!) and having seen winter through in a cream coat I know it’s not the nightmare that it seems. I think it’s the perfect match for jeans and boots and a fresh look for spring. Heading a bit further down the line to the other side of summer – for which there is no adequate coat – if you’ve still got beachy brown legs, it’s going to show them off perfectly.
The coat is £80 HERE.
Oh, and here’s what I ended up with while coat shopping – I’d just team this with jeans and flip flops to be honest, with a little vest top underneath… it’s £27 from Surf Gypsy at ASOS HERE.

Oh that’s my coat too – I have it in stone. I think it means the buttons are secure (jolly good). Thrilled to have actually chosen something fashionable 🙂 hope you enjoy yours too.
