It’s been forever since I’ve a) produced a BBB beauty box and b) received a beauty box so my curiosity was up at the mere mention of £15 for £51 worth of product! Look Fantastic produces a box every month (there’s a subscription offer which would mean you can get monthly boxes for £13 but up to you, obviously – there’s early access to advent calendars built into that) and curates it to the season. I know we are all making adjustments to our beauty spend (in fact, I’ve just read a very interesting Mintel/Spate report on how those changes are shaping up) but £15 (or £13) seems like a very reasonable amount to sate your beauty curiosity and get products worth more.
I like new beauty discoveries – who doesn’t? – and there are several products here that are new to me and if we could say one thing about the LookFantastic Beauty Box is TEXTURES! Starting with the Revolution Skincare Multi Acid AHA & BHA Serum (recently discovered my son Max has unwittingly been calling his AHA tonic A-ha tonic – as in the Morten Harket AHA) which is 30ml and full size (value £10). I’ve failed at parenting. This is as good an AHA/BHA serum as any doing the job of keeping skin cells on the move for brighter looking skin. I’d advise using it at night before your moisturiser – the formula is 10% AHA and 1% BHA in a blend of lactic, fruit, glycolic and salicylic acids with glycerin for hydration.
Next up is Rituals The Ritual of Karma 48 Hydrating Body Cream in a 70ml size (value £7). This is definitely on my list for pamper nights – as is the Bleach London Reincarnation Mask 50ml for hair which has already got a (good) reputation for being as good, if not better, than let’s just say a ‘leading brand’ and breathing life into lacklustre tresses.
Ciate’s Coconut Lip oil (full size, value £14) is a blend of avocado, coconut and jojoba oils – exactly the soothing and smoothing that summer lips need. A kick of coconut reminds me of pina colada and that it’s way too long since I had one of those! I’ll be thinking about this all day now.
I can’t think of a more fitting mask for summer than Peter Thomas Roth’s Radiance Cucumber Gel Mask (14ml, value £9.99) – it’s as fresh and cooling as they come. It’s actually made for post treatments (such as waxing) to give your complexion some much needed skin soothing and is ideal for hot skin too – in fact, keep it in the fridge if you want a major cool down. The formula is an interesting one because along with cucumber there’s papaya, chamomile, pineapple, maple, orange, lemon and bilberry. The box also includes the So Eco mask applicator (value £7), one of life’s more useful beauty tools that means you don’t lose precious product to your fingers and hands.
The final product in the LookFantastic Beauty Box is an extra – two L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Clinical Vitamin C UV Fluid SPF50 Moisturiser sachets. So many people find their perfect product this way – one sachet can change your beauty routine for ever!
The LookFantastic Beauty Box just feels like a useful, great value box with products you’d actually like to try; part pamper, part discovery and fully affordable – just use your phone camera over the QR code on the card above to see more about each product. You can find the box HERE.
