I couldn’t let this pass! To be honest, it’s quite difficult to get any idea of what this really does – it’s supposed to firm skin on face and body, using Gruyere cheese, collagen and chamomile. The only review I can find on it calls it ‘viscous’.
I can safely say that I never expected Gruyere – or any cheese – to pop up in a beauty product and I have definitely never heard that it has any benefits to the skin. I can only think that maybe there is a bit of enzymatic exfoliation going on because cheese is made from milk, which naturally contains them, but apart from that…. I have NO clue!
Any ideas? Or has anyone ever seen a cheese beauty product before? If it’s a product that ahead of a trend curve, I think it’s one that I’ll be missing. Brie sheet mask, anyone?

That is an unfortunate name for a beauty product! It sounds like something for fixing a dodgy cake or so!!
I have a Korean moisturiser called Mangchee which is a (nicer than it sounds) blend of mango and cheese. And there is another cult Korean product that’s worth checking out: Dear by Enprani Bouncy Cheese Cream. It has the texture of stringy mozzarella, yet somehow also manages to melt into the skin. Pair them with a product containing wine and you’ve got quite the party going on.
omg Joanne! Really? I’m going to look those up right now..thanks for the head’s up! Pass the Twiglets…
I can only think any benefits from cheese would be from lactic acid as milk has many lactic acid producing bacteria that eat the lactose. Cheese has much less lactose and more lactic acid than milk as the bacteria have had more time to work.

Tony Moly is quite popular here in China, I’ve tried a few of their sheet masks and had a samples of a few other things but if I’m honest their products don’t really appeal me. Cute/hilarious packaging though!
