[unpaid/sample] This new launch hits the virtual shelves (and in stores should they be open) on 1st February which is excellent timing for peak lip problems. Now I think about it, I wonder if there was a focus group or survey for what month people’s lips are at their absolute worst because logically January would have been a better time for the reveal.

Origins Drink Up Lip Balm

I like the Drink Up products – haven’t had a mask I didn’t like from that particular arm of Origins. This new lip butter fits right in with the hydrating reputation of the other Drink Ups – it’s smooth, very buttery and a good stayer so you’re not constantly needing to top up. They’ve thrown the book at it in terms of nourishing ingredients – avocado oil, avocado butter, mango seed butter, apricot oil, safflower oil, sunflower seed oil, evening primrose oil and rice bran oil, so that’s what provides the cushiony melt. The only thing I’m not keen on is the artificially sweet taste. Personally, I think it’s best as a night mask – all the ingredients lend themselves to intense nourishment so you might as well capitalize on that and let them work as you sleep. I found it to be a very softening mix and like the fact that I wasn’t constantly reapplying – I could feel a light film for several hours. When it launches it will be £16.50 which feels about right to me.
