Skyn Iceland Micellar Cleansing Water

I’m a huge micellar fan – I like a balm cleanse too, or a cream cleanse and more recently, after years of hating wash offs I’m definitely a convert since discovering Dr Dennis Gross Pore Perfecting (HERE). So, now my cleansing isn’t in any kind of routine at all because in any given week I use all of them as and when but micellars fall into my more lazy, in front of the TV kind of cleanse but I never feel that my skin isn’t clean. While I was researching microbiome, one of the flag ups was whether we’re over cleansing to the point that we’re robbing our skin of vital bacteria and how important it is to maintain a healthy pH. Anyway, this one, from Skyn Iceland, which isn’t a brand I delve into too often, is a beautiful, soft textured water boosted with arctic algae that won’t upset your pH.

It’s mineral rich (calcium, chloride, magnesium, sodium, sulfate and silica) and contains aloe leaf juice, amino acids and Nordic birch sap which sounds suitably bracing! It took off the day’s (light) make up even doing a decent job on non-waterproof mascara. It’s £17.50 all lined up and waiting to launch at M&S in the next couple of weeks. If you’re looking for a new micellar, it’s one to take note of, as is the pump dispenser – I don’t usually get geeky about componentary but this is super handy and delivers exactly the right amount onto a cotton pad.
