Origins Hello, Calm Mask

[sample/affiliate] I read this, and subsequently wrote it, as Hello Clam. It’s the merest slip on the keyboard and now I cannot think of Origins’ latest offering as anything else.

Origins Hello, Calm Mask

Whether or not you’re on the cannabis-in-skincare trail (I’m not), this is still a gorgeous mask in terms of leaving skin soft, supple and feeling nourished. It looks like a dab of wasabi in colour (the worst thing I’ve ever tasted in my entire life is a wasabi pea) but it’s as smooth, velvety and glossy as melted chocolate. Cannabis Savita Seed Oil is the player in this (probably for trend purposes) but it’s true to say that hemp seeds are rich in omegas and therefore can be effective on skin, especially dry skin. Whether it’s better than other things is another matter. The scent is unremarkable despite an essential oil fragrance –  just ‘masky’ leaning to fresh.

The best use for this mask, in my view, is after a swim or sweaty work out when your skin feels hot and/or dried out. It’s like a cooling salve on the complexion that delivers a soothing hydration so nicely that a green face for 10 minutes feels like an absolutely fair exchange. Masks are this brand’s forte – especially of the hydrating variety: usually they’re reassuringly thick and whipped into such a delicious creme that they feel very luxurious and a worthwhile addition to pamper-time. The Hello, Calm Mask is £25 HERE (with an offer of 5 piece sample set for a £35 spend – there are still one or two (nice) pampering items in their sale), non affiliate HERE.
