My Trusty Skincare

My Trusty Skincare

This review seems so appropriate today when the sun is shining and there are blossoms everywhere. My Trust is an NHS skin care line – yes, really! Believe it or not, it’s 30 years since the original My Trusty came into the world. Over at the burns unit in Salisbury hospital, there wasn’t a cream to effectively treat the new skin and scarring so a couple of skincare scientists decided to make their own. When patients then left the hospital, they couldn’t find anything comparible, so My Trusty became available to buy through the hospital pharmacy. Although it’s been available in pharmacies for years, a new distribution stream is about to change everything for this brand.

Obviously, despite the sunny appearance, this has got all the serious science that you’d need – it can be used on babies from 8 weeks, mums to be or literally anyone to give skin back its suppleness from conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, as well as helping with scarring, acne and rosacea. Linoleic acid is high in moisturising properties, but low in viscosity so it won’t clog pores.

As things stand currently, all profits (at least 50%) go back to the Salisbury NHS trust, but the reason that the new distribution into Tesco and Superdrug is such a game changer for this brand is that as it grows and sells more, the wider NHS will benefit, too. It’s very reasonably priced, too. Sunflower Body Butter is £7.99, Sunflower Face & Body Oil is £7.99, Sunflower Body Lotion is £6 and the Hand Cream (the closest to the very original cream created in the Burns Unit) is £4. The name, My Trusty, was put forward and voted for by hospital staff by the way. I’m really hoping that Tesco and Superdrug are giving this brand favourable terms. You can find My Trusty HERE.

Read this literally minutes before was off out to meet GF for lunch. Popped into Superdrug opposite restaurant and bought the hand cream and body oil. And Gosh Eyebrow Defining Gel 3 Grey Brown £4.99

Wow, 3 great products. We tried hand cream whilst deciding what to eat and both agreed it’s A1 as hands feel soft and non greasy, didn’t drop our wine glasses

Tried the oil on my gall bladder “zip” when got home, gorgeous smell, one pump goes a long way, hopefully with regular use my “zip” will never again feel tight

Have grey hair (White Hot fan) and faded brown eyebrows. Gosh eyebrow gel is superb, gives brows a bit of oomph, must try other products in this range

Thanks for all you do for us, Jane, you are much appreciated by this recycled teenager

Thanks for explaining the background. I saw this in the paper earlier but they didn’t explain it like you did. The brand makes sense now.

Can’t believe I didn’t know this existed until now. I hope this gets lots of press as the NHS needs all the support it can get these days.
