MAC Lip Scrubtious

Absolutely every single yes in the book to the forthcoming MAC Lip Scubtious collection! I’m really not a fan of flavoured balms but these just smell delicious – yes, they’re sweet but they’ve also got a strong fruity element rather than the standard vanilla.

They’ve also got fine grain sugar to properly exfoliate your lips and it really works, too. There’s a school of thought that you shouldn’t let sugar grains anywhere near your skin because they can be scratchy, but unless you are highly sensitive, you should be okay with these.

The other thing I should point out is that if you have really dry lips that are cracking, this isn’t the way to go. Those lips need a heavy barrier (Lanolips 101 or similar) until they’ve regained some moisture and then you can look at smoothing.

MAC Scrubtious are individually priced at £12.50 which I feel is reasonable for MAC. They’re very addictive, very delicious and just kind of happy making. I’ve got Candied Nectar with a peachy scent, and Fruit of Passion but there are also Sweet Vanilla, Summer Berry and Sweet Brown Sugar. Obviously because they’ve got sugar in them, they’re sweet tasting.

They launch on 23rd February.
