L’Oreal Pure Clay Mallow Flower Soothing Mask

L’Oreal Pure Clay Mallow Flower Soothing Mask

If you’ve ever wanted your moment as a Willy Wonka character, your Violet Beauregard time is now. This new clay mask from L’Oreal has been formulated as a hypoallergenic version for sensitive skin. I really like these masks that sell at a rate of one sold every minute in the UK – unsurprisingly really as they’re priced at £7.99 each which, up against other brand masks, is an accessible price and they’re very good. I also love the Smooth Sugars with Glow Scrub doing a very good impression of Fresh’s expensive version.

The point of the clay range, including this one, is to detox the skin by drawing out impurities which is what clay is good at. How you combine the clays to become a smooth mask that doesn’t feel drying or hard on the skin is another matter entirely and at the hands of a good formulator. The right amount of clay with the right assistant ingredients should leave your complexion glowing and deeply cleansed. If you have sensitive skin, you probably would avoid clay like the plague but L’Oreal Labs have combined it with Mallow Flower – known for its soothing properties – in this mask which is very creamily textured. I don’t have sensitive skin usually, so this post is more for info than anything. I haven’t tried it as a test for reducing redness which it claims because – no redness. But, I like the idea that sensitivities are being more catered to on the high street and L’Oreal Paris is doing what it does best – making affordable products that feel and look like their more expensive counterparts. Although, I don’t know why they made it violet. You can find it HERE and it’s on offer at £5.29.
