Lanolips Lip Water

[productsample/affiliate] I’ve been looking forward to trying the new Lanolips Lip Water ever since I saw it on their Instagram. I’m a huge fan of Lanolips anyway as a budget alternative to my horrible Sisley Lip Balm habit (£48!) – my whole family uses Lanolips and we’ve probably got about 8 tubes at various stations around the house.

The first thing I need to tell you about this is that it’s sold out! Cult Beauty had first go at it but it’s bound to roll out to other stockists such as Boots so it will be more available down the line.

The formula immediately reminded me of the Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath in texture but that’s where the similarity ends because Lip Water is a much simpler recipe than Lip Bath housing 10 individual ingredients (including hyaluronic, glycerine and lanolin) compared to CT’s 30 (yes, really!). Despite its name, there is no water in Lip Water – it’s all oils and things that actually benefit your skin.

I think this is the right product for anyone who doesn’t particularly like a heavy lip balm – it’s really a wash of balm that has good last so you don’t have to reapply every five minutes and doesn’t give an ultra shiny effect because the veil is so fine. The only thing that I personally don’t like is the mint flavour – I’d much prefer it without, but aside from that there is just nothing not to like. It’s ticking all the boxes in giving lip smoothness, hydration and suppleness and if there were any Lip Waters (£13) at all left in the entire country, I’d say get one now! As it is, you can sign up to be notified when it’s back in stock HERE.
