Glow Recipe

(ad products paid for by me, affiliate links) I don’t mind saying that I’m a bit obsessed with Glow Recipe with the initial attraction being that it smells so beautiful. It’s a proper watermelon scent – juicy and clean – and given that watermelon is full of anti-oxidants and amino acids, it’s a good thing to have in your skin care.

The best product, in my view, is the Sleeping Mask. Although the texture feels like an oil-jelly, it’s got AHAs and hyaluronic as well as watermelon so if used overnight, you will definitely feel a difference in your skin in terms of softness and general bounciness. In contrast, the Pink Juice (they’re both pale pink), which also contains AHAs, is oil free and feels like a water-gel. It’s the sort of product I’d leave by my desk to just pat in every now and again – I usually have a little bottle of hyaluronic (currently Balance Me) and just use it as and when rather than have it rigidly in a routine.

Everything about this brand feels on-trend and exactly right for now – it’s somehow capturing a mood in skin care that’s a little more sophisticated than the other pinkies and doesn’t solely rely on being ‘Korean innovation’ as its selling point. If your skin is very dry, it’s not for you – it seems to do more in the way of smoothing via the AHAs than deep moisturising but I don’t mind that as I use a heavier main moisturiser anyway. Maybe the products are more additions than stand-alones – either way, I love these for their happy look, their delicious smell and their properly smoothing abilities. Cult has got these three particular products but not in this set; theirs are the larger sizes, apart from the sheet mask (which I haven’t tried yet) HERE (Non-affiliate HERE) but I think and hope we are set to see a lot more from this brand.
