Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] As with most Fresh skin care, this bi-phase, skin softening oil and water mix is a treat for the skin. But, I can’t find a natural place for it in my skin care routine. So far, I’ve been using it as and when – it’s easy to slosh into your hand and pat into the complexion if skin feels dry or tight but mine doesn’t really so I’ve just been trying it on an ad hoc basis.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum

In texture, it’s lightweight (shake it up first) with the oils involved (camelina, rosehip and squalene) giving immediate softness and suppleness. The water part contains rosewater and damask rose so it smells beautiful – a lovely, gentle, fresh rose scent. It’s not quite a lotion and not quite a full-on serum – hence my confusion over where to place it. In any case, my skin care routine is so simple at the moment … I don’t mind adding other things in (comes with the job) but for me at least, it doesn’t naturally slot in. I think those who like a layered routine, or like to change it up regularly will like it best. It’s £52 HERE at SpaceNK, non affiliate HERE.

    Hi Jane
I have this and use it like I would an essence, that is after any toner, and before your serum or moisturiser.
    It is beautiful isn’t it!

It is beautiful – and it’s more like an essence than anything, you’re right – but I didn’t find it so skin softening as other essences. Lovely product, no idea where to put it!

I looked at this with interest because I still love lashings of layers in my nighttime skincare routine, though it’s all just ritualistic really.
However, I reckon one would be better served by simple glycerine and rose water, (maybe with a dash of inexpensive squalene added if not using a separate oil), rather than this concoction. It’s neither fish nor fowl is it?
(I still adore one of the very earliest ‘lotions’, the one by Trilogy. All lovely nourishing ingredients, too. I use it between moisturiser and oil at night, and as a face refresher/light cleanser in the morning).
This one I feel is all about shelf appeal rather than utility. OTOH, if one doesn’t love lashings of layers of moisture, then fair enough. Not totally convinced though!
Fab review as always, very much to the point. Thank you.
