Erborian is easily one of my favourite brands right now – with a French/Korean heritage, it’s hitting the spot in terms of Asian influences and incredible new textures that are a joy if you like to be experimental with your skin care. However, I’m having a bit of an side eye moment with the Erborian Doudoune Lip Balm. When I tried it, the first thing I thought was that the texture is very similar to Vaseline. Like a posh Vaseline if you like. Sure enough, top of the ingredient list is Parafinium Liquidum (mineral oil) which I find disappointing.

Personally, I’m okay with mineral oil – it doesn’t upset my skin at all, but I know many BBB readers avoid it like the plague. So, what can I tell you? It’s souped up with soy bean oil, Vitamin E and Alltoin, gives a low sheen on the lips (which I think would make it suitable for unisex use – there’s no big glossy thing going on) and did soften my lips and feel comforting. But, I think I expected better from Erborian than posh Vaseline, especially at £15. It’s HERE.

Totally agree with you Jane! I’m a big fan of Erborian’s CC Creme & use it daily so when I noticed in Sephora they had a lip balm I was keen to investigate…….until I saw that parrafin oil was top of the ingredients list on the box! Very disappointing, like you, I expected more from this brand.
