Elemis Superfood Skincare

[productsample/affiliate] I decided to have a bit of pamper session last night with products that I haven’t used before. On the whole, I can’t get excited about super foods in skin care, but I was impressed with the performance of both Vital Veggie Mask and Blackcurrant Jelly Exfoliator. I have a slight problem with the range in that while it sounds delicious, everything looks more or less the same – that dull green packaging in no way expresses the vibrancy of a blackcurrant exfoliator. Speaking of, it smells absolutely lovely and did a very decent physical exfoliation using blackcurrant fruit pulp – gentle and effective. The pulpy bits reminded me of coffee grounds – it’s that kind of texture. There are some really nice ingredients in this – grape seed oil, blackcurrant seed oil, black tea extract, green tea seed oil and sweet almond.

The Vital Veggie Mask is indicated for brightening which is one of those things that you can easily end up wondering did it do anything or didn’t it do anything? And whether a mask, in a fleeting ten minutes, can actually make inroads into that is a moot point. But, once again, I was pleased with it as a hydrating and softening mask. The brightening element comes from passionfruit acids, so it’s really an enzyme exfoliator which makes the term ‘brightening’ a loose one in this instance. If it was mine, I’d call it an exfoliating mask. Other players are avocado oil, broccoli seed oil, kale extract and nettle juice. I wouldn’t drink that if you paid me. Aloe vera and chia seed are the moisturisers here and while it didn’t have the deep hydrating impact of say, Origins Drink Up, I was pleased with it as a soothing, moisturising treat. The Kefir-Tea Mist – I love a mist – isn’t worth the £26 unless you really feel that ferment is something you want for your skin. I’m not convinced but I love the smell of it which is a bit gingery although I don’t see that listed – perhaps it’s the Rooibos.

The Vital Veggie Mask is £30 and the Blackcurrant Jelly Exfoliator is £28 and would be my top choice. Find everything HERE Non Affiliate HERE.
