If you’re still at exploratory stage with Japanese and Asian skin care, then the DHC Bento Box gives you a very decent toe in the water for £13. I think it’s awesome value!

This Japanese brand tends to get forgotten but it’s one of the first I can remember bringing the concept of cleansing oil to the UK. In fact, the brand is based around olive oil. I wonder if you can guess what DHC stands for? I’m pretty sure that Daigaku Honyaku Center wasn’t on the tip of your tongue! It’s hard to get a grasp of how popular this brand is in Japan – it’s not one of the first to crop up if I’m doing research  on Japanese brands. I have no complaints at all about the Cleansing Oil, and the Mild Soap is a thing of creamy, lathery joy. I haven’t used the eye sheets, but can tell you that the oil blotters are made from hemp fibre.

I have blepharitis and the mild soap is brilliant. You can gently go right up to your lash line and there is no stinging at all. They used to do fantastic coenzyme q10 soap films too that you could travel with but they were discontinued a long time ago sadly. The Skin Velvet is also really nice….
