Chupa Chups are totally a thing from my childhood. Back in the day, you couldn’t even get them in the UK, never mind the wilds of Scotland where I was brought up. My only exposure to them was on holiday and I couldn’t believe that such delicious things existed! I seem to remember that coffee was my favourite flavour – that flavour is still hard to find because I still look! I guess it’s not surprising that Chupa Chups translate to lip balms so well – this is cola flavoured and it is very cola! I’m not a massive fan of a flavoured balm for chapped lips because you end up licking them and making things worse, but for a fun flavour low sheen lip, these are great. It’s £3.50 at Topshop.

At the same time, Lipsmackers (also responsible for Chupa Chups balm) also has a Coca Cola trio – it’s not new but I haven’t come across it before. I truly wish I could remember my first taste of coke! I have one diet Coke every day and weirdly, if I forget to have one or just don’t get round to it, by night time I know about it with a weird ‘something’s missing’ feeling! So, again, these Coke variants are really quite true to the actual flavour of Coke (no point, I guess, in doing a Diet Coke one!). These won’t cure a dry or chapped lip but they will act as an amuse bouche. Was putting vanilla in Coke not the worst idea ever? £5.99 at Truffleshuffle.com.

  1. Beate

Coca Cola is the only addiction I “suffered” from 😀 It’s the only thing, that if I feel I need it, I NEED it. 😀 Those lipbalms would be a good substitution when shops are closed and I feel an urge for a coke.

Lipsmackers just came up here when I went to Gymnasium, oh, it was a fantastic thing to own.

  2. No, vanilla coke was the best!
