I thought I’d better flag up The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution after a chance call with Thom at Manface.co.uk yesterday about something else entirely!  It’s obviously aimed at spots and outbreaks and (luckily with all fingers crossed) I don’t have that particular issue (plenty of others, mind) but he is really rating it. My son is also having outbreaks which drive him mad – he doesn’t have acne, but rather the odd pimple here and there that crop up three or four at a time, go bright red and eventually fade away, only to be replaced by another set.

With Thom giving it the thumbs up as a non-aggravating product it’s definitely one to take note of – the theory of this particular item is as a pre-serum, to be used under any skin care you are applying, as a first step, to mattify, reduce redness and combat blemishes (i.e. stop them forming in the first place). The one thing it has going against it, because it’s a very light, easily absorbing serum without slip texture, is the smell. It’s quite strong – and kinda lingers in a ‘just disinfected’ sort of way. You will certainly smell clean, that’s for sure!

The entire Body Shop Tea Tree range also uses Tamanu oil which is known for improving the healing process. I know that we’re supposed to be genderless when it comes to beauty but I can’t help thinking this is a ‘boy’ product – it’s the look and the smell and I wonder if it’s intended to make us think of it as more of a male product. Either way, I know it’s worked extremely well for Thom and that’s recommendation enough for me to pass it on. Most of the Tea Tree range is already listed on the site – this product launches at the end of this month for £11.
