[unpaid/sample] Wow – Mavala is older than me! I had no idea that it was founded in 1958 (by Madelaine Van Landeghem) and sold in the 60’s to the same person (Jean Maute) that still runs it today along with his daughter. Mini polishes appeared in 1962 (again, older than me!) and Mavala make-up in 1967.

Mavala Twist & Shine Collection

It’s based, apparently, on fairies and aliens – which I sort of get because they’re all shimmery, muted, rather ethereal tones. Easy wear glamour actually – I’d have Moon Twist, Black Twist and Blue Twist on my nails in a heart-beat although I’m embarrassed to say that when I saw Blue Twist I thought immediately of Frozen!

Mavala Twist & Shine Collection

Black Twist dries down to an amplified gun-metal shade – it’s the one I like best. A couple – Blue Twist and Copper Twist – feel a bit textured compared to say, a non-metallic but actually look more textured than they feel.

Mavala Twist & Shine Collection

On the wheel, starting with Copper Twist, it’s Blue Twist, Ice Twist, Moon Twist, Black Twist and Golden Twist.

They’re nicely priced at £5.20 each HERE.
