Essie Gel Couture Enchanted Collection

Hmm, I rather like the Essie Enchanted Collection but I’m not sure I get what’s ‘enchanting’ as such about it. There’s a newer collection, the Desert Mirage Collection, that’s a lot more exciting, but I’m weak for a lavender grey and I think that Once Upon A Time has it right. On the Essie site, it’s described at an icy blue but all I can see is mauve tilted grey.

The other interesting shade is Spellbound (centre) that’s a grey/green with golden lustre. It’s really pretty in a very muted glamour kind of way. I never get who buys the insipid non-colours like Matter Of Fiction (end). It’s almost impossible to get a solid coat with no streaks or gaps. Oh, and don’t forget, you need the Gel Top Coat for these. They do last, I can’t deny it and have a professional looking, glossy, hard finish.

On the nail wheel above: Daring Damsel, Good Knight, Once Upon A Time, Princess Charming, Matter of Fiction and Spellbound. The collection has launched in the US but not yet in the UK – unless you love gel effect nails, hang on for Desert Mirage (non gel) because it’s gorgeous!
