Hmm.. well this murky Burberry Pale Yellow polish from the Spring English Rose collection turns out to be two different shades, depending on the light. In the bright sunlight that we (luckily) had this weekend, it looks almost daffodil yellow but don’t be fooled.. unless you are somewhere that you can rely on the sunshine to warm this shade right up, it’s default colour is an ashy buttermilk shade. There are hints of green in it as well. I was expecting to absolutely loathe this colour, but once one the nail I didn’t.. I’m not sure that it’s a colour I’ll reach for very often, but it is rather edgy and I have a feeling it will become a thing. I noticed the formula is quite thick – it’s not the easiest formula to work with.
Pale Grape is the other shade that I was sent to try; again, different depending upon the light, but it’s truer colour is the grey/mauve in the bottom section of the picture. I love this shade – it’s exactly the sort of colour I want on my nails and if I didn’t have more nail swatches to get on with, I’d have stuck with it. And, interestingly, the formula for this shade was much more fluid and easy to apply smoothly to the nail. They’ve both £15 each from the Burberry site.
