I hit the sales yesterday with my friend Genevieve – weirdly, I really wasn’t looking for anything at all and more going for the fun of it, but I ended up with some great finds. I still didn’t manage to get inside Zara though so I was pleased that I’d ordered one of the new lipsticks on-line just before Christmas (along with a green satin dress and a sequin top – the latter is going back).
The obvious blooper from Zara is the over-packaging – I think that’s an area that’s going to come under serious scrutiny next year. It has a clear plastic tube with a plastic lid and a slot of patterened paper inside that – and then inside that is the lipstick. However, for a flat £10, the lipstick itself is lovely – very silky, very pigmented and very smooth in the wear. There are 10 shades of matte lipstick and eight liquid lipsticks – also matte.
The shade I chose to show you is UM16, a vivid red shade with slight blue tones. I noticed that they smell sweet but it’s more of a fruity sweet than a vanilla sweet. It’s not horrible. I spotted that Zara has released all the details of their beauty range to press but not yet to influencers which seems quite strange – it means all the hoo-ha about the lip products happened in very early December just missing peak shopping. Anyway, the upshot is that it is a tenner very well spent if you like matte textures. You can find them HERE.

I’d be prepared to put money down to bet that you won’t have experienced a skin care texture like this before...
