Apart from being ridiculously pretty, the YSL Volupte Tint In Balm formula contains a central, lip shaped core of balm, with an outer edge of colour. The method of making these is called ‘back injection’ but when I Googled – yes, you guessed it. Hundreds of pictures of people having injections in their back! Something popped up on a sheet metal website, but apart from that, I can’t find anything more on it.

As you can see, the shades I have here come out light – they’re more colour nuances than a full lay down, but I love these for summer or holiday lips when a light wash is all you want. They’re juicy looking too – sheeny without being overly glossy. The shades I have from bottom to top are: Try me Berry, Desire Me Pink, Dream Me Nude, Seduce Me Pink and Flirt Me Coral. The bullets indicate the shade with a colour bar around the centre. In fact, they’re beautiful looking with that colour core.

These are just all of the happy and sometimes all your lipstick needs to do is make you smile. I love these. They’re £27 each but I think everyone has rushed for a slice of spring because they’re all sold out on Selfridges who had the exclusive. More stock will arrive but it’s disappointing that there is no wait list.
