[productsample] The brand got in touch with me a couple of weeks ago to ask if I wanted to try any of the new w7 products so I asked for a selection to show you and got this on its own. It’s not a brand I ever feel particularly tempted by but I definitely got sent the best thing which has made me want to look again. w7 has a loose ‘banana’ powder so this is their updated, pressed version to which they’ve added a (very light) banana fragrance and some banana imprints.
I mean, it’s cute, right? And perfect for summer (when we eventually get the sun back) to tamp down oil on the skin and neutralise redness. It’s just a very basic silica formula and please bear in mind that yellow toned powders don’t always work on all tones. I found on mine that even just a tiny bit made my skin look evened out and matte but since matte isn’t my look it’s not something I’d turn to often. If you’re a keen Instagrammer, yellow toned powders can help avoid a white powder cast in photos (I haven’t put this to the test). Made famous by Ben Nye, w7 has added some personality to banana powder, and offers a signifcant price difference (Ben Nye is about £19) if you’ve ever felt tempted to try it. It’s not something I need in my line-up but for £6.95 (cheaper if you shop about a bit on the internet) perhaps it’s a fun thing to try. It’s HERE.
