[productsample] I wasn’t expecting another Victoria Beckham drop so soon, but I’m pleased to have this water-based universal lip tint that gives lips an easy no-make up but enhanced look.
The curious thing about the lip tint is that from the applicator you assume that it’s going to be some kind of pinky-raspberry colour and yet, once on the lips it’s much more of a neutral, brownish shade. If you have dry lips, it’s probably not for you because any water base evaporates taking your lip moisture with it, so if that’s the case, opt for something more balmy and nourishing. Otherwise, if you like a minimal make up look, especially for lips (which I do), it’s a sheer, matte finish whisper of colour that gives lips a finished look without any bother or fuss. The information I have suggests a plumping element but I didn’t see that at all although I did think it gave some smoothing benefits.
At the same time, the brand has released six nude toned lip pencils – if you have very deep skin tone I think they’re a couple of shades missing at the moment although the deepest there is (06, Chestnut) may do. It’s hard to say. I have three here, and they’re smooth and creamy as you’d hope so blend nicely if you don’t like an obvious line. If you get the right shade, they are good with the tint – I see the look they’re going for and it works but you really need to see how they combine on the VB website HERE. They’re £18 each and the tint is £30.
A quick note because I’ve been asked about it several times – Victoria Beckham Beauty is shipped from the USA and so far, I haven’t heard of anyone being charged a custom’s fee but it’s something to take into consideration. I’m certain they’ll have UK distribution soon. In the swatch above, it’s Bitten, followed by 03, 02, 01 lip pencils.
