If you like scented mattes that are ultra bright, you’re in luck! That’s exactly what the Sugarpill Pretty Poison Lipsticks are all about, although I will say that I find the ‘creamsicle’ scent very, very light. Clearly, packaging is a strength here – these are unlike any other lipsticks and I like it when smaller brands don’t follow a predictable path.

I’m a) not an outrageous shade lover although when I’ve tried alternative colour shades on Facebook Live, I’ve ended up quite liking some of them, and b) not a matte fan. If I’m honest I do find these a little drying but I think that’s rather standard with matte formulations – very few, despite protestations to the contrary, don’t dry your lips to some degree. It’s always helpful to sleep wearing a ton of balm the night before you’re planning bright shade mattes.

So, bottom to top in the swatches: Detox, Spank (more purple than it’s showing here), Girl Crush, Glint, U4EA (I have no idea…!) and Nurse. They’re £15.95 each HERE.

A quick mention too for the Kim Chi Collaboration Liquid Lipstick (£14.95). I’ve got to say I’m not familiar with the Chicago based drag queen and live-action anime character. Wait, what even IS a live action anime character? I checked out Kim Chi’s site HERE and I’m not sure I’m any the wiser! However, the actual product is really unusual – a moussy textured liquid matte lip in a greyish mauve with gold sparkles! I don’t think I’ve seen a similar colour.

I don’t think the sparkles are super evident – I didn’t even notice them in the swatch, but I’m fascinated by this shade. It’s £14.95 HERE.

The lipsticks are growing on me although I would want to wear them on my eyes instead of my lips although the red and orange look great.
I didn’t know Kim Chi was the collaboration with the drag queen! I loved Kim Chi on Ru Paul, great makeup and funny. Yet, all this time I thought the lip gloss had to do with the spicy Korean vegetables!
I think ‘U4EA’ is a play on ‘euphoria’?
Yup, I believe the spelling comes from Beverly Hills 90210’s infamous drug panic episode of the same name.
I love the look of Sugarpill’s lip products! I want the Kim Chi liquid lipstick so damn much! 😀
