Sugarpill Pretty Poison Black Edition

The Pretty Poison Black Edition lipsticks launched back in March for the US but I believe are more recent for the UK and if you like your lipsticks deep and vampy, then you’ll love these.

Even though they have a gorgeous shine on the bullets, they’re actually matte – although Anti Socialite on the right is a semi-matte. Dark Sided on the left is a dark, slightly brown tinted burgundy while Anti Socialite is purple. There are two other shades – a metallic blue and jet black matte.

They do look darker on the lip obviously because natural lip pigment is deeper and you can really layer to a depth of colour you feel happy with. These definitely fit the trend for dark lipsticks (and gold brows are on their way so be warned) – there is nothing shy about the colours at all! Apparently, they’re in a new, longer stay formula but to be honest, I’ve never had a problem with the formula as it was.

I like LA based Sugarpill generally – it feels like a more creative and individual brand than many and they embraced non-gender stereotyping with make up pretty early on although I know there were some controversies back in the day. It’s stayed independent and is 100% vegan. You can find them HERE at Love Makeup.
