There are a quite a few new launches that I’ve blogged about previously before they were available to buy so I’m just doing a quick round up of the products that I rated at testing that have now gone on sale. I’m combining this with a couple of bits of Beauty Business News – there isn’t enough for a whole post but the two snippets are that Revlon has bought Elizabeth Arden and that L’Oreal has bought Atelier Cologne Perfume. Something as consumers you may not realise is that some brands literally begin with an exit plan – so their five year plan for the business is to end it with a sale to a major company. Obviously, that’s not relevant here but I do think about the number of times where I’ve really bought into a brand (Mio for example), only to realise some years later the end game was never to hold on to it. I can’t really equate all the passion at the initial start from the founders, only to discover that energy was only ever to be short lived. Beauty really is a business.
So, carrying on with the new products – above is the Dior Fix It which I find very good for dark circles – there is a hydrating central core which means that it doesn’t lie in creases. Selfridges is listing this as only one left but I assume they’ll restock. It’s £23.50 HERE.
The Clarins Autumn eye palettes have also launched – if you remember, these are nudes for specific eye colours presented in harmonies that will most flatter your particular eye shade. I love this idea – it’s not a new idea but I like that the complications of will it, won’t it suit me has been taken away. Easy make up for any age or tone. They’re £34 a pop HERE.
The new McQueen EDT has launched – I’ve been wearing this a lot since I got my sample: it’s not for you if you like fresh and light fragrances – this one is deep, floral-sweet and feminine. It’s also £75 – yikes – HERE.
The gorgeous Paul & Joe Tweety Pie (plus the Tom & Jerry) range has launched HERE.
The new Fresh Vitamin Nectar Mask has launched – it’s such a treat for the senses and skin – the most delicious smelling mask of all time I think so if you’re after a brightening pick me up with a scent that will literaly make you smile, it’s HERE for £52.

The Clarins eyeshadow look really lovely. I saw recently that L’Oreal also bought IT Cosmetics, prompting the usual fears about changes to formulas etc. I didn’t know that some brands launch with an exit plan, that’s crazy!
Will invest in the fresh vitamin nectar, thank you for the post :p xx

Knowing that brands have an exit plan does make sense. I’ve lost count of food brands I no longer buy because they “sold out” to a big brand but that’s how the founders make their money. Fair play to them.
It looks like neither Clarin’s own web site, nor Selfridges web site actually tell you which eyeshadow palette is for which eye colour. Given thats their USP (Unique selling point), they are sure missing a trick!
yes they are!
