Sephora V For Volume Burgundy Mascara

Sephora Coloured Mascara

Because I loved the black finger tip liner (you literally just put your finger in the hole in the lid and you can manoevre the liner that way which is a whole lot easier) I wanted to pick up another shade which I did, in Metallic Marsala, but at the same time, scooped up the V for Volume Mascara in Marsala. It was about EU7 but I see on the Sephora.fr site it’s now half price. I’m not surprised because it’s rubbish!

It looks amazing in the swatch on my arm but trying to get it actually onto my lashes – what a faff! It’s dry, the colour pigment hardly shows at all (it might show more if you have pale lashes) and the brush seems to hold the mascara rather than deliver it. It is the least volumising ‘Volume’ mascara I’ve ever come across! Avoid it. Interestingly, while the black fingertip liner was absolutely great, it seems there is a formula mishap with the metallic versions – it’s watery unless you really, really shake it, and if you do really, really shake it, it’s too thick. Argh. Fail. This is one Sephora hype not to get carried away with. Example of the fingertip liner in action below.
