Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine in Fire & Ice Dupe For Gucci

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I first featured Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine in Fire & Ice in 2021 but these ultra balmy lip sheers have just gone absolutely crazy on TikTok and it renewed my interest. I even say, in my 2021 post, how close Fire & Ice is to Gucci Rene Pink and yet forgot all about it in the shock that Rene is discontinued. I had it confirmed in Selfridges yesterday. But, I’m thinking it may be a perfectly acceptable dupe. See what you think.

The Super Lustrous is very, very balmy – on a hot day, this would be in my fridge I think. It’s almost like melted butter on the lips – I am not complaining. But you can see they are in the same colour family.

This is Fire & Ice.

They’re not very far apart are they? Close cousins if not sisters.

Bottom is Gucci, top is Revlon. However, nothing is as simple as it seems – Revlon USA list 14 shades in stock, despite saying 25 shades are available. Revlon UK list seven and it looks like Superdrug aren’t stocking Revlon any more. I thought it was strange there was no Revlon island when I went to my local branch and I’ve just done a search on line and it came up as ‘sorry, this brand is no longer available on line’. Boots have completely sold out, but their island at my local Boots only held three colours anyway. The newer shades are virtually completely sold out (the TikTok effect) but if you can get hold of Sparkling Honey, I just would – it’s a browny-neutral shade not unlike Clinique’s Black Honey. Grab it, run home and hide it under lock and key ;-). Fire & Ice is HERE but only 13 items left.

Wow, siblings definitely! Glad you could find such a close dupe to your favorite color, Jane! (I truly don’t get why some brands discontinue well-beloved items or colors – just don’t get it…) I think I gonna have closer look at Revlon though…

I’m still getting old stock brought over from the US (or another option is Australia) – it will be a long, drawn out goodbye if I have my way !

Happy hunting! Lippies can live pretty long life so I wish you to get a lot! Really LOTS of them 🙂 And thoroughly enjoy… (and may be Gucci will re-issue it again?)

My friend has got me two from NYC – whew! By the time they’re used up maybe I’ll just have made my own :-)))

Lovely colour on you Jane! Excellent news and at Revlon prices you can stock up (Tic Tac sorry Tut Tik permitting) and still have money left for a nice g&t or vino. These sound like a formula not too dissimilar to Revlon’s much missed Lip Butters. Have a lovely weekend xxx

You’re right – very similar – in fact, probably the same 😉

    Hi Jane,
Well spotted! Both are lovely but the Gucci one is just that little bit nicer x

It would really suit you as well!

These remind me of the Lip Butters Revlon used to do. They were brilliant and the colours were so good. I think Revlon were a bit ahead of the game with those, as everybody is doing balmy lipsticks now. It’s a shame they’re not doing so well. I think their cream pot eyeshadows are really good too.

Yes, you are right – they’re probably the same, re-marketed.

I only have a few ends of lip butters left. Was gutted when they discontinued them. Will have to give these a try.

      I think they’re the butters reinvented. x
