PUR 4-in-1 Tinted Moisturiser

[sample/affiliate] I’ve looked at PUR mainly from afar – I have to admit that I didn’t quite ‘get’ the brand not least because I’m not particularly a fan of mineral make up. However, mineral as a category has come a long way since dusty pots of pigment that you didn’t dare breath too hard near – a grand example of that is bareMinerals – and as my preference for coverage changes so does my attitude to minerals.

It looks like there has been a packaging revamp but everything else remains the same including the ingredient Sodium Hyaluronate – the salt form of hyaluronic acid that is lower in molecular weight than hyaluronic acid and therefore penetrates the skin more easily and comprises the moisturising element of the tint. I’d consider this to be suitable for older or drier skin types although it’s not so heavily hydrating to exclude any other categories.

I liked the fact it left a dewy sheen on my complexion and if you prefer a very matte finish, this isn’t for you. The coverage is sheer but discernible and it has SPF20. There is really very little weight to this – the moisture element stayed all day although by the end of the day and with completely different light conditions it’s hard to say whether the tint fully did or not. I’ve tried it over several days and when I come to remove my make up, there are traces on the cotton pad so some at least stays the course.

There’s quite a leap in colour between light and medium as you can see – ideally I’m light with a dash of medium! There are only four shades – a pity because ‘dark’ clearly isn’t deep enough for many tones so that’s something that needs addressing.  It’s a little confusing that the product is called Tinted Moisturiser when it purports to also be a foundation, primer, SPF (titanium and zinc oxides) and moisturiser. It’s a moisture tint with SPF in my book. The formula has exactly the right amount of fluidity for a brush application, gives an even tone look and is adequately hydrating – I like it a lot but for the caveats and will investigate more from this brand. It’s £25 for 50g at M&S – I’d advise looking in store at what might be your ideal colour before purchase but the link is HERE, non affiliate HERE.
