Jones Road Just Enough Tinted Moisturiser Review

[purchase/affiliate] I’m one of the few people who didn’t like the Jones Road Miracle Balm – in fact, I hated the feel of it on my skin so really, I’ve kind of ignored the brand ever since. However, suddenly, I’m seeing Jones Road everywhere so I wanted to give it another whirl. In not new news, I love a tinted moisturiser so the new Jones Road Just Enough Tinted Moisturiser seemed a very good place to start.

It’s quite an interesting product, relying on Sodium Hyaluronate and Glycerin to do the heavy lifting hydration wise – really it’s a simple formula. Hemisqualane gives the texture exactly the right amount of slip and glide so it feels neither too dry nor too slippy and in terms of ‘glow’ aka shine, the mid point has been found. If I’m being fussy, I’d like a bit more glow but I think the point of this is that is a perfected skin look, not a made up look.

The blend is a dream – it could not be simpler to apply either with a brush or fingertips. The tint aspect is a nuance and a finish so what you’ll get is me-but-better skin that looks both natural and enhanced. I mean, genius is not far off the mark. Without wanting to generalise, there is a moment in mid-life when you just don’t need or want the same level of coverage on your skin and if that sounds like you, Jones Road Just Enough Tinted Moisturiser is a brilliant day to day coverage where you won’t look ‘made up’ as such, but just somewhat perfected. It’s £44 for 50ml (none of your 30ml nonsense going on!) and my shade in the picture is Beige.

The other purchase I made is the Jones Road Lip Tint in Valencia Orange, one of 13 shades and probably not the right one for me.

I wish I’d been less predictable in my choice and I also wish the colours were a bit more adventurous along the orange/red scale. It feels beautiful on the lips – silky and light, and it stays put longer than your average tint. However, I don’t love this orange on me – it’s not quite red enough. However, all of that said, I really cannot knock it for texture, staying power and hydration. It’s £26 HERE. The Tinted Moisturiser is HERE.

I actually love that lip colour on you! I think it really suits you. It’s very brightening and enlivening. I think that coral and orange reds look great with warm skin and blond hair. Why don’t you like it, just curious?

Honestly, it’s just a bit too stark an orange – I would have preferred a red orange or even a pinkish orange – this feels a bit like it came straight out of a nursery school paint bottle….
