I hardly know where to start with next year for Paul & Joe! 2017 marks their 15th year anniversay so there are even more spectacular things to come, but I’ll make a start with the Spring collection. As you probably know by now, Paul & Joe Beaute always reflects the fabrics used in the fashion collections (not that I remember seeing any of these when I was at their SS17 show in Paris earlier this year). And, just a reminder that there is a self-select element to all Paul & Joe beauty – so you buy the casings and the products separately so you can dress them how you like.
Anyone trying to get hold of last year’s cat lipsticks will be happy to know they’re back – this time in vibrant pink (Persian Pink) and a grey shade (Russian Blue) that turns pink on the lip.
Paul & Joe eye trios are under-rated – they’re a bit expensive at £23 because they’re small but the formula is beautiful. Again, there’s a selection of casings so you can mix and match your favourite shades with your favourite pattern. I haven’t swatched these yet – there’s plenty of time, I just wanted you to get an early peep.
The palette names (starting with the nearest and working back) are: Mon Nounours, Mon Couers and Mon Prince.
And now the stars of the show! These are the Spring Face Colours – use them as you wish; as eye or cheek or face shades (if you could ever use them at all.. I forsee swatching being a problem!). The overall theme for the spring collection is love and romance and that’s most evident with these. The shade above is Mon Petit Chat – note the little fluffy ‘patter’ to apply to your cheeks.
This one is Poupounette – more golden and bronze toned.
And finally, Smitten Kitten – warmer orange and beige tones. All the Face Colours have a pearl element although you wouldn’t call them high shimmer. These are £25 each. I love playful make-up, especially when the formulas are reliable and grown up – all the Paul & Joe face, lip and eye formulas have something extra, such as orange flower water or jojoba oil so that they’re good for your skin as well as making you look pretty. I’ll get swatches and a confirmed launch date as soon as possible. But for now, cat lovers, enjoy!
